It is remarkably painful to deal with clogged drainage.

This has happened to all of us – the water fast submerging our feet while are taking a shower. How disgusting! the drain pipe is obstructed . Or you’re in front of the toilet sink, brushing your teeth and before you know it – the sink is halfway full. Clearing obstructed drainage is something everyone wants to avoid because it’s such a messy task and the defective drains make one appear unhygienic (and that’s what those drains are). Yet many residential bathrooms or kitchen will suffer from a blocked drain incident at one particular point or another. The most preferred approach is to prepare ahead of time for such a predicament by educating oneself on how to fix bathroom drainage when the drainpipe pipes become clogged.

What Causes plugged drainage in your home?.

Most often, when the dirt, sand and debris that we wash off from our bodies combines with the hair that we shed in a bath, all those entangled clumps accumulate within and eventually block the drainpipe. The problem aggravates when bathroom products like soap, shampoo, conditioner, detergent, and the like begin to accumulate on the mass. Eventually this will become more and more dense and this is what prevents your water running uninhibited through your drainpipe. When waste water drainage very slowly or just stands stubbornly in the washbasin, you know you have a choked drain problem.

How to remove the drain pipe blockage.

You can do a number of things to unblock your bath or bathroom sink drain. Of course, in either the sink or the bathtub, the first thing you should do is remove the plug. You can easily remove the stopper by pulling it off from the bathroom sink, however if it’s fixed under the sink then you need to unscrew the nuts. With respect to the bathtub, the screws have to be loosened to remove the plug or the overflow plate has to be dismantled.

Once you remove the plug, you may then be able to see the source of the blockage. You are most likely to see bunch of hair and other debris entangled in a blockage. Try to pull it out, as much as you can. If it is out of reach, you can use a wire clothes hanger to remove it if you can hook into the debris and pull it. Clearing out the hair, soap scum and particles could very well take care of the problem for you.

If the clog cannot be pulled out with the help of the hanger, then you should use other clog-clearing methods. The most practical way to clean such deep-seated clogs is a drain plunger. First, cover the overflow drainpipe with a wet cloth in order to make the air suction from the plunger stronger. Then, put the plunger over the drain pipe and push up and down half a dozen times. You may find that this suction-push action of the plunger loosens the blocked debris down the pipe and the collected water now drainage freely.

Even the plunger may not clear the most dense and hardened matter inside your plumbing system – that’s when you will have to deploy a chemical drain pipe clearing product. This method should only be used as a last resort because the chemicals used are dangerous and can be harmful to your bathroom fixtures.

Bring in the Pros for a professional drains solution.

If the above methods fail to solve your plugged drain pipe problem then you may have to contact a plumber. Plumbers should have equipment that can help unclog drainage quickly and easily. It may cost you, but you will find it is worth the money once you can use your sink and shower worry free.
