In my basement i have flying bugs (look like fruit flys but a little bigger) coming out of the 2 floor drains?
Does any one know how to get ride of this problem… used bleach, not greatly effectivive. Basement is 1/2 finished. One of the drains is a shower and one is a sink drain. Any ideas
Most likely fungus gnats, they are seekers of moisture and meldew. Try using some fly tape near the drains, worked great when we had moths in our home one year. Try covering the drains when not in use to cut them off from their supply.
Place a bowl of White Vinegar beside each drain this will lure and kill these gnats then when they have been irradicated you can then seal off the drains until the shower and sink have been installed
Or follow this method: Make a trap to lure flying insects
Who wants to play host to a bunch of gnats, flies mosquitoes, or other six-legged pests Keep the flying gate-crashers at bay by giving them their own VIP section. Place a bowl filled with apple cider vinegar . By the evening’s end, most of your uninvited guests will be floating inside the bowl.
Good Luck !
